Cleaning out closets my wife came across your CD titled Orbits, still sealed. Not remembering who gave it to us I checked it out on Spotify. I’ve been listening to your music for two days now. The song Night Prayer was especially meaningful. I’ve since shared the lyrics with several friends who during this time of Covid need to experience the peace that only Jesus can bring, and your music can help bring them to this place. Many thanks.

Dear Keith – Wow! I just discovered you by looking for other versions of Bruce Cockburns’s “Dweller by a Dark Stream” on my streaming service. Not only do you do a wonderful cover of it, but your original work is fantastic. The Gospel shines through your music and lyrics in a fresh and creative way that Is gentle and hopeful. We’re listening to “Orbits” right now. I’m grateful to have stumbled onto your music and look forward to listening to all of your work. Perhaps someday you’ll make it south of the border to Chattanooga? Thank you for your music and I hope a new album isn’t too far away. May God glorify himself and uplift others through your work.

Hi Keith! I tried sending you an email, but unfortunately it was undeliverable.

My parents, Howard and Eileen Dueck, know you from Black Forest Academy many years ago! They suggested you as an incredible potential artist for our two upcoming benefit concerts for TeachBeyond/Open Schools Worldwide in the fall in Manitoba. I would love chat about the possibility of this! Feel free to send me an email and we can talk more.

    Blessings,

Thanks so much Bethany! I’m so sorry to have missed this. I’d love to come and play at something like this, once all this Covid business is over. Send me an email through the contact button. I’d love to talk more.

My financial advisor linked your song “Never been to war” in an email he sent reminding us that Remembrance Day is important to remember. I went to your website to find out who you are and how to hear more from you. I notice there are no tour dates since 2016. Have you really stopped touring? I live in Medicine Hat and would love to hear you in person. Is that a missed opportunity?

      Hi Melinda,

No not at all. I’m afraid I just haven’t done a good job of keeping that section of the website updated. I’ve had several inquiries about playing a concert in Medicine Hat, but have been unable to find a church willing to host me for some reason. If you follow my Facebook page, you’ll receive more reliable updates about upcoming concerts.

Thanks! BTW Was it Jeremy Cooper who sent the email?

Yes, it was Jeremy. How do you know him? I forwarded his email to all my kids. Some have a better concept than others about the price of freedom. My daughter and her family get it best.

I go to Hillcrest Church. Have you tried them for a concert venue?

I played there years ago on a tour with Michael Cars. Perhaps it’s worth inquiring again.

          Thanks Melinda.

    Hi Keith,
A couple of weeks ago you did a concert at my church (The Bridge Church in Winnipeg) on a Sunday morning. I had enjoyed the show and the songs had really spoken to me. Afterward, my mother and I bought your CDs and just now I’ve been listening through Broomtree. 5 songs into the album, I just felt I had to tell you something: this album is incredible! You paint such vivid pictures with your lyrics and the music fits so perfectly with the emotions in the songs. I’m a huge music fan and I am constantly buying new music, but it has been a long time since I’ve listened to an album that has delivered so many consecutive songs that are both so powerful and so enjoyable. God has given you an amazing gift! May you continue to use it for His glory and to spread the Good News of salvation and freedom in Christ.
    God Bless

    Hi Keith,

Love the new album songs…I am looking to use the song “We Come” at my church in Edmonton, AB where I am the music director. I have heard this song by Steve Bell and am trying to track down the music to put it with our Advent Series. Is there a place I can get the music or the guitar chords for this song??? I have email the origional writer, Steve Bell, and his music manager and have had no luck. Please let me know.

Keith, Back, in October you came to our church in Fort Macleod, AB. Broomtree has been a staple in our player since then. Your lyrics and gift from God have touched us tremendously. Ash and I are so moved by your songs. God is using you to spread his love across the nation and we wanted to encourage you in your ministry. Thank you for your commitment to following Gods will for your life. I am a police officer in Lethbridge and have been spreading your name to the Christian guys in the office. Thanks Keith.

    Hello Keith,

You came to my church, Grace Mennonite, in Regina a while back and I purchased your CD Broomtree at the time and have been enjoying it ever since. I play with my church’s worship band and would like to play ‘What Could I Be’ during a service, so would it be possible to get the music for it?

    God Bless

      Hi Thomas,

Glad you’re enjoying Broomtree. Do you have the new record?

I’d be honoured to have you perform “What Could I Be?”. I don’t have the music handy. Give me a few days and I’ll email it to you.

In the meantime, there are only 5 chords in the song G, C,D, Em, & Am. You might be able to figure it out on your own.

Just the same way that Steve’s ‘ tend to the wounds of your blunders ‘ grabbed me, your song Empty Page stands out as unique from the rest of the CD. ‘Love is wild and free/it chooses where it goes/ and who can make any sense /of how it ebbs and it flows…sometimes…more trouble than it’s worth’ I see you as very versatile, part troubadour like Stephen Fearing, Corey Doak, with a voice that caresses, and then soars.I was delighted with your presence in my church, Vernon Alliance, and could have leaped with joy that you and I are such Steve Bell fans. Like Steve’s, your music is now part of the river of faith I can use. I can wash in it, dip in it and float along in it, sustained, inspired, comforted in the times between church services. If you go to my website you’ll see who I am! You’ll see me at any concerts you give here in the Okanagan.
    With much respect and admiration,
    Leila

Thanks for your kind words, folks. Sorry I haven’t responded more quickly.

Leila, I do remember meeting you. What a great weekend we had in Vernon. Hope to come back soon.

Judith, I don’t have sheet music for my stuff, unfortunately. Although, he might be able to pick up what I’m doing by watching some of the Youtube videos.

Wayne, I did some work in the oilfield last fall, too. Glad I was able to encourage you.

    Hello Keith,
I met you at the Baptist Church this spring in Nelson. I never get tired of listening to the Broomtree album and especially Flame. I have a young friend in Germany who plays guitar and I was wondering whether you ever share the ‘chord’ music? Especially to that piece? I am glad to have had the opportunity to have met you. blessings on your continued ministry.

I bought Saturday about a year and a half ago when you came through Humboldt, SK, and then Broomtree a little while later, as we didn’t have enough cash on us at the time of the concert. Loved both of the albums when I bought them. Was flicking through my iTunes last week, and decided that I still love them…. and that I need to get on buying Rumours of Light :) There’s something timeless about your work, and as time progresses, I reflect on different nuances and lyrics. Thanks for doing what you do, it’s inspiring, thoughtful and exquisite. Blessing to you and your family in the New Year.

    Hi Keith,
We met last spring at Ken Dryden’s when you did a house concert there. I have been learning guitar and am practicing with the worship band at our church and would love to learn to play your songs. Is there a website where I can get the guitar music for your album?
    Thanks,

Thanks for your kind words, Cory. I don’t really have the gear or the know-how to do it. I’ve never really found tab all that helpful. Most of my songs are pretty simple, once you figure out the “trick”. If there’s a particular song that’s troubling you, perhaps I could post a video.

      Let me know.

We just finished listening to your new cd after Jason bragged about how great your concert was. Awesome CD! We are so happy for you and your family and amazed by your ability to write and perform such great music. Good luck with your future concerts!
