Thanks Keith. Sorry for not responding earlier.

Heaven’s my hope too. Glad to have someone else take care of it.

I can relate to what you mentioned about ego. Most of discipleship seems to be about letting go of ego and humbly accepting the place where God places us. That’s where we usually end-up finding the most meaningful work.

I hope you’re enjoying singing to the seniors and that you’re receiving as much from the experience as you’re giving to it.

    God’s Peace.

    Keith

Hi Keith. Love your music. I too share your name and the love of Jesus Christ. I too write and sing and now that I have taken early retirement, sing to seniors. All of December I sing Christmas Carols to them. In the end we have to let go of our ego and try to follow God’s plan for us. I have never felt closer to God than giving of myself to the seniors who are on their way to their final resting place. Some day I hope to sing in the heavenly choir. Perhaps you’ll be there too.

    Hey Keith,
I just wanted to let u know that I was at your concert at the Strathmore Alliance Church, I was greatly encouraged by your songs, the words are very uplifting and encouraging, keep shining for Jesus and seek to glorify his name, God’s blessings to you and your family.

  4. Andrea

Loved the reflection on your first year looking forward to what is to come! May God continue to give you the faith you need day by day…to serve Him…leaving all the worries in the dust.

  5. Keith

    Thanks Jaynell.

I appreciate you letting me know. Most of an artist’s work is done in solitude, and is deeply personal. It’s nice to know that at least some of your work “grows up” and finds a life of its own.

    God’s Peace,
    k

    Hello Keith,
I was at your concert in the Prince Albert Alliance church. Your music is absolutely beautiful. It portrays so much meaning and emotion. When I listen to it I feel like I really know God. I love every song on your new CD. I just wanted you to know how much you are appreciated by myself and my family.

  7. Keith

Hey Joy! Good to hear from you. Ruth will be glad to hear you said ,”hi!”

Unfortunately, the album isn’t available in stores. However, you can order the album here on the website, or pick one up at a concert when I’m in the area.

If you’re an iTunes customer, you can buy the album there too.

    Cheers!

    Hey Keith,

I’d just gotten an event update from Ambrose College and saw that you’re at their chapel one day this week. Well, I was with your wife Ruth at Janz Team Orientation before I left for Black Forest Academy 7 years ago. So, great to stumble across your music, which I’m already very much enjoying after my first listen. Say HI to Ruth for me and thank you for being used of God through the gift He’s given you. By the way, would your CD’s be for sale at Scott’s Parable Bookstore in Red Deer?

    God Bless!

  9. Leslie

Hi, I’ve just heard Come to me, and I think it’s a beautiful song. Just wondered if it’s possible to get the written music for it. I’d love to sing it at church, with a guitar.

    Thanks for your time,

    Les

  10. Keith

Michael- I’m sorry you weren’t able to afford the tickets. I do wish you’d mentioned something to the folks at the church, or emailed me. I hate it when money gets in the way of ministry. Thanks for picking-up a CD. I hope you were encouraged by it.

As for reaching those who are living far from God, I really feel that I’m doing what I’m being led to do. I’m not sure that evangelism, apart from the church bears much lasting fruit anyway. My calling is to encourage people to walk more deeply with Christ. Churched people, un-churched people (over-churched people?) I guess you’re right, though. We’ll see. Thanks.

Steve - Just click “contact” at the very bottom of this page. That’ll let you send a message my way. Hope that helps.

    Hi Keith,
I was at your Concert at Portage Alliance. During the concert I had a vision for you.
I don’t feel comfortable “posting” it, so please contact me through my email address.
    God Bless
    Steve

  12. Michael Hastie

Although I couldn’t afford the tickets to your Jan 25th.2009 performance at Portage Alliance Church, I did manage to pick up a copy of “Saturday”. And with your performance Sunday morning at Church, I feel I can say with some confidence that after the first few minutes pass, your music could help many non-believers make the leap towards faith in Jesus Christ…
There is a power in your performance that trancends the typical/average/everyday fare..

Weather you can reach the un-saved by singing to the converted is the question, but you have to get your name “out-there”. Steve B. got his start the same way….there is no point in re-inventing the wheel.. ANYWAY!
May God Guide Your Path Towards This; Your Calling

Hey Keith…I heard your name on the radio here in Medicine Hat…I was jumping into a meeting so I didn’t catch which song…or even if they were talking about my old KBK cohort. I was glad to discover that you have quit your day job!!!

  14. Wendy

One more comment, because I see that you asked… I have heard “What Could I Be?” on CKVN all the time. In fact I spoke to the announcer and asked him why he didn’t play the rest of the CD and he said that was the only song that was “released”. I’d love to hear the others on the air as well…

  15. Wendy

Keith…God has blessed me SO much through your music!! I’ve never seen a concert but my husband has and brought home a Broomtree CD. It’s been my favorite ever since. I love your lyrics, they are so powerful and God-breathed and your music is so easy-listening! I have to get your other CD soon (it’s on my birthday list!) and hope you will be putting out others in the near future!!

God bless you richly, dear brother!!

    Wendy

    Hey Keith,
Your concert last night was amazing and we both loved it. God Bless you as you follow His leading.

  17. Mark Pouteaux

    Keith, your a legend man.

  18. David Gingras

I have always loved your stuff my friend. Miss those bible college days. I am so proud that you followed God through this. I still have Pile of stones on cassette. Love your work, and love that you’re touring. When you coming to winnipeg next.

  19. Keith

Thanks James. Each album has it’s strengths. I’m actually surprised at how many people still like the old one, even after hearing the new one.

I remember the night you guys were here. Seems to me you ordered-up some sweet Chinese food for us.

    Cheers,

    k

  20. James

Wow, I just downloaded the new album from itunes. The new album sounds great! After swapping CD’s with you in Speedy Creek (a steve toon one for yours) I realized that I had made a good move. One last comment, sure going professional with the recording is a great move; for me though, I still like a few of the old tracks. A little more feeling there at times. Anyways, you have some great music and I’ll try to get some of my friends into it and tell them to purchase!

  21. Kim S.

Your new CD is very good and continues to show your love for God. God has given you a gift, may he be glorified through your music.

    God bless!

  22. Bo

I was thinking of “Streets Of Jerusalem” and “Forgive Me”

  23. Keith

    Hey Bo.

What song did you have in mind?

  24. Bo

I am a worship leader, and would love to perform some of your stuff at our church. Is there any way I could get some chords or music to your songs?

  25. Sarah

I just bought your album on itunes! Amazing Keith! It brings back a lot of memories!! I’m so excited to see God working in such incredible ways in your life. I’m so glad to see your dreams are being fulfilled!!
    Be blessed Keith!

  26. Keith

The funny thing is, there’s actually a place on the net where you can go to make action figures of yourself. It’s like $400 for the first one, and then $40 or so for each additional one. My ego hasn’t yet gotten to the point where I feel the need to actually make one.

  27. JJKerr

K, wow. Just took a browse on the new site, and I just love the look of it. Sent the link to my website guy and said, “Now THIS is nice.” :)

And I love the SuperKeith thing in your Store. That’s just a whole lotta fun. I love that the site is very classy and a bit serious, and then you find this bit of wackiness. Perfect.

    Blessings. Later.

  28. Eve Adams

I was introduced to your album by your cousin, Carol Jarman, on Christmas Eve.
Your work is wonderful; I appreciate the gift you have to share with the world. Please continue and I encourage you to write a book based on your insights or comments relating the bible to one’s spititual life as well as our everyday realities.
    You write very well!!!!!!
I am currently editing a novel I have just completed and I encourage you to write. I can see you are gifted.
    Sincerely
    Evelyn [Eve]Adams [Toronto]

  29. Keith

Thanks Benjy. I’m hoping to come out your way in June sometime. I’m also hoping to head out to Winnipeg on a little mini-tour in early February (not that that helps you at all).

  30. Benjy

Awesome CD! Sweet sound. But when are you going to come to Ccalgary and play live? I want to show off my ex-youth pastor.

    Benjy

  31. Stephen Toon

Dude!!!! You sound amazing!! You’ve inspired me to get my butt in gear and go record some more. Hope you’re doing great and let us know when you’re out this way. We want to tour in the Spring/Early Summer so we should try to do something out your way - would love to see you man.

We are so proud of you and look forward to all the exciting things God has instore for you. I think you should do a concert in Moose Jaw. Kim and I would be there front row and center!

  33. Keith Kitchen

Keith, we share a name and a love for music…May your love of the Lord lead you to the light you deserve. I myself walk a different path but hope someday to arrive at the same destination as you. I am a disc jockey at a country radio station in Pennsylvania and just happened upon your site.

    Keith,
Thanks for the vine! I mean absolutely no disrespect to Steve Bell at all! In that list of fav’s, Steve’s music is really high as well. All I’m saying man is seriously, it hit me more than many of the albums I’ve purchased in the past year, which would include Annie Lennox, Caedmon’s Call, Derek Webb, Barenaked Ladies, Jack Johnson & Micheal Card. You are too modest my friend. Keep it up, I really hope we can get you out here for a concert soon. All the best tonight. I wish I could be in Swift.

  37. Keith

    Trevor,

I’m glad you like the album. I think you’d be surprised what some of our fellow CBC’ ers are coming up with these days.

    Check out : http://www.nathancarroll.net and http://www.brocktyler.com

Also, ease up on Steve Bell. I am a rabid fan of his, and consider him to be a tremendous source of inspiration. He’s been a great encouragement over the years. I’m not exaggerating when I say this album would not have come to be without his pushing, and challenging me to pursue this.

I get a little defensive when it comes to Steve. There ain’t no flies on him.

All that said, I’m really glad you like the album, and hope it encourages you.

  38. Trev Rysavy

    Keith,
I am amazed. By far, this is the best CD ever produced by anyone associated with CBC, (that even includes the great Ben Hoeppner!) In fact, I would go so far as to say that it has immediately made its way into my favourite albums. It has everything that I love. I’m now officially on the 25th listen and its getting better and better. Seriously dude. You have some amazing talent! I absolutely love it and hope someone picks you up and this is in stores everywhere. I like this album better than anything Steve Bell has put out. I’m not joking.

  41. Keith

Thanks for the encouragement folks. It’s great to finally be able to share the fruit of our labor this summer with you all.

Jason, I barely remember that night with the guitar, but it sounds about right.

  42. Barbara Bruce

Well worth the wait, my friend. Thank you for your passion, committment, and beautiful insight. As I sit here in Portland, missing my precious Indian Head, trying to determine which direction my life will go, I am deeply touched by your heartfelt words, especially ‘Release Me’ and ‘Price of Love’. Please keep writing. You have things to say.
Love to you and your sweet wife and children,
    Barb

Folks this guy means business in regards to his music.

I remember in highschool going to his house on wedgewood way sitting in the basement and painfully having to listen to his electric guitar in the beginnings of learning. and yes listening to an overly loud starting of a guitar twang I never saw fingers fumbling around so fast looking for the volume knob on an amp like that night. Or listening to him playing with his wa wa board. Man ya gotta come over and listen to my wa wa. I didn’t even know what he was talking about.

Lucky guy I am musically challenged.I wanted to learn how but. Ya I wanted to, but mom worked midnights and she didn’t any noise. she said I could but it has to have head phones. Ha ha an accordion with headphones. Ya right

I remember in highschool popped a question open endedly do you know Jesus on one of our outdoors club well his answer wasn’t what I was looking for. He told me where to go real fast. Now look at this awesome man, father, pastor and friend. Belting tunes out for Jesus.

I think of you lots keith.

You got foundation problems ask keith and he will set you up with some bentonite. lol

The whole genesis 2:18 prank at college. Bob Peters I think didn’t think it was too funny though. ha ha

  44. Aaron Wiskar

Wow, I’ve gotta get me one of those CDs!! I think we’ll have to make something happen at the church some time in the near future too. The CD release in Swift Current, you never know my wife, daugther, and I may be able to make it. Depending on what time the concert is, I have relatives that live there! Congrats on everything so far!!

  45. Chrissy

    Hey Keith!!
This looks awesome!! I can’t wait to get my own actual copy of the CD!! The release concert is gonna be awesome!! You’re so talented, and have totally used your gifts to glorify God!! I’m so excited for you!!

  46. Mark Pouteaux

YEAAAAAH!!! That’s ma brother, hittin’ it up with a tweaked out music album till the fuses snap..It sounds awesome man… and also bustin’ out the “unshaved lumberjack look.”
    I approve 100%

Way to go Keith! I’m proud of you.
    -Poto

  47. Noreen

I’m so proud. I can hardly wait to listen to the CD over and over again. Grateful!
