I’ve mentioned on Facebook recently about how I’ve been experiencing a wave of creativity and have been gifted with a few new songs.  I made a modest video of one of the new songs to share with you.  I considered waiting until I could post something a little more polished, but I’m eager to share.

So without ceremony or apology, here it is (Lyrics below):

“Keeper of the Fire” – Music and Lyrics by Keith Kitchen

Copyright 2014

Hide me here in the cleft of the rock
Place Your hand over me
Shield my eyes as Your glory passes by
It’s more than I can bear to see

I have come through the desert
Rested with Your angel there awhile
You called to me under a dry and lifeless try
Hopeless and lost, and ready to die

But now I am here, at the centre of it all
and You’re closer than I could dare to dream
Keeper of the fire and the wind
Whisper Your name to me

I am caught up in this moment
When everything seems so clear
and I drink deep of Heaven’s perfect peace
and there’s no room left for fear

You have fed me by the river
Brought Your ravens to my side
Through the years of drought I spent in the widow’s house
The jar of oil would not run dry

And now I am here, at the centre of it all
and You’re closer than I could dare to dream
Keeper of the fire and the wind
Whisper Your name to me

    Thanks Nils,

The lyrics are based on the biblical story of Elijah found in 1 Kings 17-19 (roughly).

You can read the full lyrics and listen to the album version of the song here: https://keithkitchenmusic.bandcamp.com/track/keeper-of-the-fire

    Thanks again!
